A nearly three-decade line from shipyard systems to a global Data Office.

I did not arrive at Data and AI from the side. The work is a progression: campus infrastructure, shipbuilding finance systems, corporate architecture, three formal Chief roles, then building Digital Realty’s Data Office & AI from a one-person launch.

How to read this

Chief titles at Northrop Grumman were formal HR titles. Pre-Chief roles show how the operating judgment was built. Direct reports and influence are labeled separately. Economics stay labeled as identified, booked, avoided, vendor-equivalent, program estimate, or AOP alignment.

Five acts, one operating line

Read the braid as capability accumulating, crossing, and finally operating together.

The line begins in hands-on infrastructure, from campus networks to a base-wide Air Force network modernization, then moves into the finance systems that kept a shipyard operating. Systems judgment came before architecture as a title.

Scale

The unit of work widened from applications to enterprise infrastructure, interfaces, migration patterns, and centralized architecture. The data current opens here, years before data science became a title. The 2012 title change was organizational consolidation, not a demotion.
